Cemetery
New Light Congregation, a Pennsylvania non-profit corporation, located at 5915 Beacon Street, Pittsburgh, PA 15217, maintains a Cemetery located in Shaler Township at 750 Soose Road, Pittsburgh, Allegheny County, Pennsylvania 15209.
The Cemetery is a permanent burial place for members of the Jewish faith.
The Cemetery is open daily from 8:00 am until sunset. The Cemetery is closed on Shabbat (Saturday) and in observance of specific Jewish holidays: Rosh Hashanah, Yom Kippur, Sukkot, Shemini Atzeret, Simchat Torah, Pesach, and Shavuot.

Chapel Available for Rent
New Light Cemetery has a small chapel next to the caretaker’s house at the entrance of the cemetery that is available for use during burials or for small affairs.

The Cemetery will provide all necessary mechanical services for the interment of the deceased. Funeral and burial rites honoring the deceased are the responsibility of the next-of-kin.
Fees are charged for Interment, Perpetual Care, and Laying the Monument Foundation. The Interment and Perpetual Care Fees are to be paid in full prior to the burial. The Foundation Fee must be paid prior to setting the monument. These charges are subject to change.

New Light Cemetery plots (spaces) are available for sale to Members and Non-Members. There are different rates for Members and Non-Members.
Purchase of a plot conveys only a right to be interred in the interment space(s) and in no way is any real estate title conveyed to the Purchaser.
Your rights are limited by and subject to the Cemetery’s Rules and Regulations as now existing or as amended in the future and are binding on you and your heirs, successors and assigns, and are enforceable only by the Cemetery.
Fees
- Cost per grave: $750 (Members receive a 20% discount)
- Opening/closing of grave: $995
- Perpetual Care (mandatory): $825
- Perpetual care covers the foundation and bed. The monument may be protected by your home owners insurance. Any other planting will incur additional costs.
- Foundation:
- Single Foundation: $650
- Double Foundation: $990
- $1.05 per Sq Inch (length x width x $1.05 = cost of foundation)
- Single Closed Bed: $950
- Double Closed Bed: $1,350
- Sunday Burial: Additional $400
