The Great Immigration from Jewish Europe Meets The Great Migration from the Black South

African Americans and Immigrant Jews were once neighbors in this culturally diverse and renaissance neighborhood. Join tour guides from the Hill House and the History center who will guide you through historical remnants and story of this colorful neighborhood.
Highlights include Freedom Corner, Lyceum, August Wilson’s Family House, The Crawford (Jazz) Grill, Kether Torah Synagogue, Hebrew Institute, Logan Street, “Jewtown,” and surprise guests speakers.
We wish to thank Rodman Street Missionary Baptist Church for graciously providing two 20-seat buses for the tour. Seats are on a first-come basis. Additional registrants will receive a detailed map of the route.
